Dylan Ward was born in Lafayette, Indiana and grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Raleigh, North Carolina.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree in Film Studies at North Carolina State University, a unique program that allowed him to study his two passions: literature and film.
Dylan writes fiction, short stories, screenplays, reviews and essays. In 2014, his first book was published, Behind the Story of The Goldfinch, a book companion that delves into the private life of bestselling author, Donna Tartt, and the inspiration behind her Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Goldfinch. He is included in Dadly Dads: Parents of the 21st Century, a coffee table book featuring modern-day dads from around the world.
He continues to pursue the writing life each day, with several projects in the works. A voracious reader, some of his favorite authors include Scott Smith (A Simple Plan and The Ruins), Donna Tartt (The Little Friend and The Goldfinch), Andre Dubas III (House of Sand and Fog, Garden of Last Days, and Townie), Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl and The Grownup) and Dennis Lehane (Mystic River and Shutter Island).
He loves film, excellent coffee, wine, and beer. He enjoys traveling and spends time in New York and Florida. Currently, he resides in North Carolina with his family and is at work on his first novel.
