Dylan Ward was born in Lafayette, Indiana and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
After his family moved to the south, he attended high school and college. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in Film Studies at North Carolina State University, a unique program that allowed him to study his two passions: literature and film.
Dylan writes fiction, short stories, screenplays, reviews and essays. In 2014, his first book was published, Behind the Story of The Goldfinch, a book companion that delves into the private life of bestselling author, Donna Tartt, and the inspiration behind her Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Goldfinch.
He continues to pursue the writing life each day, with several projects in the works. Behind the Story of Gone Girl, about Gillian Flynn and her 2012 runaway bestseller, will be published in early 2015 with more Behind the Story companion books to follow.
A voracious reader, some of his favorite authors include Scott Smith (A Simple Plan and The Ruins), Donna Tartt (The Little Friend and The Goldfinch), Andre Dubas III (House of Sand and Fog and Garden of Last Days), Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) and Dennis Lehane (Mystic River and Shutter Island).
He loves film, excellent coffee, wine and beer. He enjoys traveling and spends time in New York and Florida. Currently, he resides in North Carolina and is at work on his first novel.
